note: Space is limited, so please preregister early.
Awards:
Trophies to 1st, 2nd, Top Under 300, Top Under 200.
More awards may be added based upon turnout.
Team Trophies will be awarded to all teams scoring better than 50%
Teams are players from same school, same grade range (K-5, 6-8, or 9-12)
Best 3 scores from team count. Home School Teams from same zip code are considered same school as well as Cultural Schools that meet at least once a week and teach chess (e.g. Raleigh Russian School or Cary Chinese School). For K-3 Section the contributing Score will be pro-rata if there are more than 3 games played. How this will be done will be determined on the day of the tournament.
Format: 3-6 rounds as time permits: G/30 (G/25 d5)
Open to K-3  (pre-K ok) and are rated below 500 or not rated.

Directions: Map 
Take beltline I-440 to Western Blvd exit 2B - go west about .8 miles then right on Powell - then a few hundred feet the location will be on left and the building is behind the main church.
The are many alternate routes when coming in from Durham & Cary so check for directions that might be best for where you are coming from.
notes:
USCF Membership Not Required except in K-3 Section, but you will have to register for a USCF ID for rating tracking purposes if you do not have one already.

TD reserves right to alter the format of the tournament which includes things like, but not limited to:
  • Using most current ratings rather than official August ratings.
  • Splitting siblings/schoolmates up in two different sections.
