Raleigh Russian School Scholastic
Twenty-three
students showed up for the 6th tournament at the Raleigh Russian
School on Saturday, March 20th. Each of the five sections had a clear
winner with a perfect
score of 3-0. The individual winners were: Cheri Agner from Wendell
Middle, Divyansh Devnani from
Davis Drive Elementary, Sravya
Kuchibhotla from Morrisville Elementary, Nikil Sarin from Turner Creek
Elementary, and Luke Henderson
from Raleigh Montessori. The First
Place Team award went to the squad from Davis Drive Elementary.
Side notes:
A
free entry fee was offered to any girls who were going to participate
in the NC Girl's State Championship, but there were no takers. There
were four girls who did participate (17%) and two of them won
their sections (40%). At the August version of the tournament
girls took first place in half of the quads. So girl's scholastic chess
results have been good !
There were two
pre-K participants!
The Detailed Individual and Team Wall Charts as well as the USCF
Rating Report are available.
